Focus on Christine Tietjens. Fastrak’s Business Development Director
Christine Tietjens has worked in the lottery industry for more than 25 years, so she knows a thing or two about how to create lottery point of sale display solutions that engage with consumers and make it easy for them to play, ultimately driving sales.
She joined Fastrak in 2015 and was recently promoted to Business Development Director, Lotteries, which means she is responsible for sales across Europe and Asia Pacific.
A day in the life…
A typical day for Christine involves keeping up-to-date with developments in the global lottery industry and listening to our licensed lottery operator customers’ aspirations, needs and concerns. She regularly liaises with our design team to ensure the solutions we develop are flexible enough to cater for what’s on the horizon as well as the here and now.
“We don’t want to simply take an order from a customer, we want to design the appropriate product for them.”
Christine spends a lot of her time identifying new customers and opportunities and gets a real sense of achievement when a lottery display solution lands in store:
“Helping lottery providers improve their presence in highly competitive retail environments can have a huge impact on sales. It’s an exciting and rewarding process to be involved in especially knowing the wider community will, in turn, benefit from our customers’ success.”
Christine, who worked as Sales Manager Australia for Scientific Games International for more than 10 years before joining Fastrak, is excited by the prospect of high growth predicted for the global lottery industry over the next five years.
She believes the ability and willingness of lottery providers to embrace technology in-store will be central to their success: “Lottery providers that invest in digital media screens and product automation to support POS are likely to do really well. Fastrak Lottery leads the field in integrating new technology with conventional lottery point of sale displays design.”
Christine, who is passionate about experiencing as much of the world as possible, divides her time between Europe and Asia Pacific – spending three month stints in each. She loves the outdoor life and coffee culture of her Australian home but when she’s in the UK she makes the most of her membership of the National Trust, regularly soaking up the atmosphere of historic buildings.
